Everyone at work has been talking about our furlough days--in particular how we are going to spend our unpaid days off. Well today was one of my furlough day and here I spent it.
First, Danica is sick and so I started the morning off at the doctor's office. Danica has officially broke the 14 lb. mark. She has a cold--so she should be better in a few days.
Here are a few pictures of her before the doctor came in--she loves to look completely happy and healthy when she sees the doctor. So I look like a liar when I say she has been out of sorts. :)
Then Dad and I started a little garden--I think I will call it my very own Hanging Garden of...well I haven't decided yet--but I will.
I have named all the plants--so I can remember which one is which--and because I have fun talking to them. I am hoping it will make them grow big and produce lots and lots of veggies.
This is Early Girl (I am hoping to have tomatoes very soon with this one), Ana (New Mexico Chilis which I usually call Anaheim chilis), and Mark (Marconi peppers--never had these but they are described as a sweet pepper but don't look like bell peppers in the pictures).
This picture has Sweets (in honor of one of my favorite TV shows--Bones--Sweet 100 tomatoes. I am particularly excited about this one because it is supposed to be a wonderful tomato and easy to grow), Cherry (obviously cherry tomatoes), and Brandy (in honor of my kitty--Heirloom Pink Brandywine tomatoes. We are super excited about this one because you don't get these in the stores).
So hopefully I will get to tell you all about our garden very soon.
Ironically Corey's mom got us an Aerogarden with the herb pods this weekend. Corey started our herb garden as well. I would take a picture but right now it is just little domes. The plants probably won't start sprouting for another week or so. But when they do, we will hopefully have fresh basil, chives (Corey is particularly excited about these), parsley, oregano, and a few more. Our salads will never be the same. :)
So overall my day off was nice...but it is nice to know that tomorrow I will have a job to go to. :)
